Dog Behavior Seminar hosted by Suzanne Sollene

May 17, 2008, 11am to 1 p.m. at NCHS

Suzanne Sollene, of the Dog Rescue Network, will be hosting a Dog Behavior Seminar on May 17th. Her new website is www.dogrescuenetwork.org.
People can pre-register for this event by contacting Suzanne at her email: treespirits@tcsn.net.

The May 17th Seminar will be held on Sat. from about 11AM-1PM at North County Humane Society, 2300 Ramona Rd, in Atascadero.

A $20.00/per person, tax deductible donation is required to participate. All proceeds will be benefitting Dog Rescue Network.

This is an outdoor event, so dress appropriately

The following topics will be discussed at the Dog Behavior Seminar;

  • How to be the leader of your “pack”.
  • The three things your dog needs in order to be balanced.
  • How to get the most out of exercising your dog.
  • The “dog rules”.
  • What your dog is telling you (that you don’t understand).
  • What you are telling your dog (that confuses her/him).
  • The most common mistakes people make with their dogs.
  • Dog “myths”.... and much more!

We will also review correcting more common problem behaviors including aggression (towards family members, strangers, dogs or other animals), anxiety, barking, destructiveness, fear, housebreaking and hyperactivity.

SHOP FOR THE SHELTER

Every month, throughout the year, members of the NCHS Board of Directors and volunteers conduct a Shop for the Shelter at local stores. This activity brings in cat food, toys, cleaning supplies and paper towels due to the generosity of shoppers in our community. The donations often amount to almost 100% of our need for a certain item for that month which helps with our shelter operations expenses.

Help support the shelter and the businesses who so kindly allow us to set up our Shop for the Shelter.

If you'd like to volunteer to help with one of these events, please call Jan Jones at 466-5403; we welcome your help, even if its only for an hour or so!
